I am running Parallel Desktop 10.2.2 on an older iMac which has OS X 10.8.5. My guest OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. At some point I will probably update both operating systems, but at the moment everything is working very well. I have noticed though that when I install Windows programs, most of the program shortcuts are placed in C:\Users\Public\Desktop, where C: is obviously the Windows drive. However for some Windows programs, the icons are placed instead in \\psf\Home\Desktop where the OS X shortcuts are. (\\psf\... is the Mac host drive). These Windows icons show up on the Mac desktop with the red Parallels bars superimposed, and are also on the Windows desktop, whereas the shortcuts that go into C:\Users\Public\Desktop do not show up on the Mac desktop unless you add the shortcut. If I try to move the Windows shortcuts in \\pfs\... over to C:\Users\Public\Desktop, I get an Access Denied error. Overall it is not really a problem as to where the shortcuts icons are, as you can always get to Windows programs through Windows Applications, but it is seems odd that some are placed on the host drive rather than the Windows drive. So it's an observation, not a problem. To paraphrase Hercule Poirot, "Curious, n'est-ce pas?"
