windows screen looks weird... is it a virus :(

look at the start button and the bottom of the screen, it's like discolored on windows only. any advice? is it a virus? do i re-install windows? can i even do this if i already used my one product key?

This is hardly a virus and yes, if needed you can easily re-install Windows using the very same product key.


However, for now I would suggest first to try the following:

1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs and uninstall Parallels Tools.

2. Reboot Windows.

3. Install Parallels Tools back from Parallels menu: Virtual Machine -> Install Parallels Tools.

Also, try increasing Video memory in virtual machine's Configuration and then check on the Windows side the follwoing:

1. Right-click anywhere on the Windows Desktop and select "Properties" from context menu.

2. Switch to "Settings" tab.

3. Check the color quality (try increasing it for example) and the screen resolution (try making it the same as on the Mac).

Additionally, you can try a different view mode in Parallels: View -> Full Screen.
