When will Parallels release a update to patch the Spectre and Meltdown on Windows VM. The host is already patched but the hardware test of Spectre still fails. This is the link to the powershell that does this check and fails due to the OEM firmware which would be Parallels. https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com...ifying-spectre-meltdown-protections-remotely/
don't expect any reaction on this from parallels - several people have reported issues concerning Spectre and Meltdown with Parallels but there is just silence. I am migrating at the moment all my infrastructure to VMware - they have reacted properly and patched their products.
I read a suggestion that WINDOWS 10 users should change their BIOS password. Is that worthwhile in the context of running within Parallels? It would be appropriate for Parallels to make a general announcement (across platforms) concerning Parallels specific things that should (or can) be done by users while waiting for Parallels to implement other patches/fixes etc.
The media is starting to call out Parallels on this. Take this example: https://itnerd.blog/2018/01/29/vmwa...sion-so-what-about-parallels-desktop-for-mac/
