Windows Update not Updating

I run windows XP using parallels and have the windows update set to automatically download all updates. However, I hadn't received any notices for several weeks that there were updates waiting to be installed. So I tried a manual update, and there were loads of updates waiting. So I don't think the automatic feature is working through parallels. Has anyone else noticed this? I don't keep parallels open all the time my macbook pro is on, but it is open at least 50% of the time. Thanks

Hello,

Check your Automatic Updates settings in Windows Security Center. Are you sure that Windows in your VM is on when the updates must be automatically downloaded?

Check what time your Automatic Updates is checking the update server; the default is usually very early in your local morning.

but I prefer the notify update setting
