Can anyone help me??? I am new to the MAC world and have installed Parallels Desktop 3.0 to run Windows XP. I did get it to run but then XP crashed ad I could not run the virtual machine.

I have sice deleted the VM, unistalled Parallels Desktop 3.0 and even restored the MAC operating system. Now every time I create the virtual machine and try to install the XP, it always crashes on the install and will not complete. Now I can't use the VM or XP.

    Any help out there????

XP Professional. As I had stated - it worked fine until the XP system crashed.

I'm having the same problem, and JackieBe - I'm sorry but your advice made it worse.

This began with a parallels tool problem, which Jackie recommended I reinstall PT, then paraellels would launch but XP crash at the start screen, so I completely uninstalled Parallels, reinstalled, and cannot get Windows XP to complete loading - at all. I get the blue set up with all the drivers loading shown at the bottom of the window, but installation doesn't complete. I get a blue screen of fatal error once the Setup is Starting Windows message appears (again in the lower left corner). I've now tried 3 different versions of Parallels and its the same problem over and over. PLEASE advise!

    Hello,
I was blocked at the same step and I just change the language of the mac (it was currently french) to english..... and then it worked. I do not know if it is the same issue for you.

A coupld of days ago, this article was posted to the knowledge base.

Installing Windows OS from Disk Image File Using Mac OS X Disk Utility. Problems During Windows Installation. Installation from the Disk Fails.

    http://kb.parallels.com/entry/30/458/

I was experiencing a similar problem as described in this thread where I installed Parallels 3.0 on my Mac and then the XP home edition install would hang while trying to boot from the hard drive. I uninstalled & reinstalled Parallels several times but always the desktop came up with the same configuration page & OS window.

I uninstalled Parallels (for the 5th time), followed the step-by-step directions in the above article & created a brand new virtual machine. Now XP is running on my Mac like it is right at home.

    Hope this helps.
