Windows XP Crashes when starting a VM

Hello
I just installed (and after facing this problem reinstalled several times) Parallels Desktop on my PC (Windows XP SP2 with all security updates). Everytime i try to start a VM, the host system crashes and reboots (sometimes it tells me something about a problem with "hypervisor.sys"). The problem is the same for a newly created vm as well as for a vm created on another computer.

I even tried to repair my windows intallation and reinstalled all drivers. No change!

please tell me what build of Parallels are you using.
Also please provide me with the screenshots of error messages if possible.

Thanks for the fast reply. I have installed the latest version (Parallels-Wst-2.2.2204-Win.exe) of the Parallels Workstation.
Unfortunately i can not post a screenshot of the error, because the systems goes into a blue screen. On the BSOD i see this message:
*** Stop 0x0000008E (0xC0000005,0x954728BB,0xBA4C7F40,0x00000000)
*** hypervisor.sys - Address 954728BB base at 9546F000, DateStamp 46ef7c45

The virtualization option was already enabled. After all the problems i did a clean reinstall but still have the same problem. The only difference is, that there is no more BSOD. The System just reboots when i start a vm.

I found the solution for my problem.
After setting my bios to safe defaults it worked. After some testing i found out that i have to DISABLE Advanced -> AMD Virtualization. Do you have an idea why?

Same thing happens to me on my Phenom 9600 with hardware virtualization support enabled in the bios. Unfortunately, the entire reason I downloaded the trial was for the AMD-V support so disabling it defeats the purpose of using this product for me.

please open the 'Configuration Editor' of your VM -> 'Options' -> 'VM Flags' tab and make sure that Hardware Virtualization Support is enabled.

I have virtualization enabled in the bios and with it enabled in the VM and set to the Recommended (High).

So I attempted to disabled DEP for the Parallels.exe to see if that help but I get a different BSOD, maximum_wait_objects_exceeded. This happens with the 2204 and 2112 builds.
 
Hello,

please try to update your BIOS, then make sure that virtualization enabled both in BIOS and in 'Configuration Editor' of your VM and then try to start VM one more time.
If you still have this problem, please check your PM.

I already have the latest bios installed (11-15-2007) and the virtualisation is also set in the config of the VM. I even tried with some older bios. It was just the same. As soon as i enabled the virtualization in the bios, the system crashes.
It only works with vitualization disabled in the bios.
