After a month of difficulties in trying to transfer world of thousands of emails in Outlook over to either (Mac) Mail or Thunderbird on Mac Mini-OSX, including using Pro Care services, I gave up and turned to Parallels to run both XP and OSX. Four days of bliss, and all was well. Monday morning clicked on standard Windows Updates, and XP & Office never the same again, with different error messages each time. Have reinstalled XP three times as well as Office, going back to original '97, then 2000. Could not get Outlook to open 2007 mail since won't go backwards. Reinstalled XP 4th time, installed Office 2007, mail worked perfectly, all emails in tack, closed Mac, went to bed! This morning, could not launch Parallels. Get a new message within black DOS screen: "Windows could not start because the following file missing or corupt "\windows\system32\config/system32". "You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original CD-Rom. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair." Mac acknowledges that there is a disc in it, but Windows will not locate it, despite numerous attempts, shut-downs, etc. Ready to throw Mac out! Windows and Mac world combined will be great solution, just need both Windows and Office to work and stay that way. Guidance very much welcomed and appreciated. Thank you, Sharon
