Windows XP on Parallels does not show up on Netwok

On Windows XP (running on Parallels Desktop), C: drive, I have a shared folder that I have to be able to view on the network, from another PC running windows vista.

If I open Network Sharing center in either PC, the other PC does not show up on the network, although a laptop does. From the Vista PC, I can see the MAC, but can NOT access the folders on Windows XP which is running on Parallels desktop.
I have been working to resolve this for 2 weeks, no progress?

Any ideas????
 
Please try to use Bridged Networking. This is not possible while do it this way while VM is in Shared Networking mode.
Note: Bridged networking may not work in some environments.

It is also possible to share on Mac some SharedFolder, which is accessible from both VM and Mac
 
I have a new macbook with Parallels 4 in "shared networking" mode and I am able to connect to the internet from within the the Windows XP virtual machine I have installed...
However, I need help with 2 topics:
1- which mode is better: shared networking or bridged ethernet? and what's the difference?
2- I managed to connect to my company's vpn using the virtual machine and AT&T VPN client... but the intranet isn't accessible from the mac safari view... will one of the options above make a difference?
 
This is getting costly now. I had a network guru come over to see if he could work out the problem- no luck!
When we open the network panel in Parallels, we see 3 (three) ethernet adapters, NONE of which have the parallels name on it. All three have the green lite next to them. After these there is a wireless adapter, also with a green lite.

We checked the IP address of the XP Windows on Parallels, it is 10.211.XX.X, and none of the ethernet adapters have this IP address. We tried to add an adapter but could not.

All I need is to be able to see the local drive "C" that is on Windows XP, running on Parrallels, on my network, so I can access one shared folder on it. On the network, No other computers can see this XP computer come up.
