WinXP VM Crashing in PD4 while running McAfee antivirus

I have recently upgraded from PD3 to PD4 following a transition from 10.5.8 OS to Snow Leopard.

My VM crashes in the middle of scanning by McAfee antivirus. I've encountered this problem consistently, so far three occasions. A fatal error screen is displayed that gave me the opportunity to send to Parallels Team an error report generated automatically. In the meantime, I'm posting this issue here in case anyone has encountered it and has a quickfix. I've used the same antivirus in PD3 with no issues.

I suppose Kaspersky will be more stable with PD4, but I haven't installed it because I have 7months to go on a 3-year license for McAfee.

WinXP Pro SP3 using Parallels 4.0.3846
Hardware--
Model Name: MacBook
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Memory: 4 GB

McAfee Antivirus (13.15.101) and Security Center (9.14.126)

Tried PIS powered by Kaspersky, but VM too slow

I finally tried to give up on my McAfee antivirus and gave Kaspersky a shot (who can refuse a one-year free license :) ).

However, the VM is running very slow. Too slow to work comfortably. Any quick fix on improving this situation?
