Wish I'd read this before I spent $50 HELP Please

I upgraded to Snow Leopard and then spent $50 to upgrade to Parallels 4.

I get the following message


Unable to connect to Parallels Service.

Make sure that prl_disp_service is running or check your firewall settings. If the problem persists, contact the Parallels support team for assistance.

So, It will cost me an additional $30 to get help. WTF?

I'd like to know what is going on. Obviously the program is trying to connect to the internet. I don't have a firewall running.

Suggestions would be appreciated
