Wrong characters when typing using 2x Client for Macintosh

Hello,
I use a 2x client form macintosh (Version 8.1.930) to connect to a remote server.
I can do that, thers no problems. The problem starts when i start to type.

for example when i would type all letters of the keyboard:

qwertyuiop
asdfghjkl
zxcvbnm

the result on the screen in any of the programs I use is:

ūgjrmvnzēč
šusildate
ņbīkpoā

my mac runs the latest version of OS X
and the server runs Windows 2003 server (in german)

maybe there is some conflict with the languages on both systems?

does somebody have clue how to solve this?
