XP image size - why doesn't it get smaller when I unintall large programs?

So - What's the deal? I have a 10gb XP image, and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to make it smaller.

Can someone please explain?

or the Parallels Image Tool Users Guide.pdf will explain it for you. You have to run the image tool to shrink the image. It is, after all, an 'expanding disk' not an 'expanding and shrinking disk'.
