    I upgraded from build 1940 to 1970 this morning. And now parallels is consuming 15-20% cpu when windows is idle.

    Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this issue? Do I need to downgrade back to 1940

    OSX 10.4.8

    Is it possible that this is normal behavior? Has anyone observed thier system CPU utilization while running windows in parallels?

    I'm still running 1940 because of this issue. 1970 seems to be less efficient with CPU. On my 1940, I'm around 8-10%.

    Yep, I am seeing the same issue on 1970 and now also on 3036. 1940 was much batter on power but it is hard to give up the "Coherency Mode" in 3036 to go back to it. I really hope this gets addressed since it is the main barrier I have to using the VM while travelling as it kills the battery pretty quickly.

    Made the same expirence with may MacBook an 3036 (Coherence is great !!)

    -> 25% CPU usage

    There are some threads with this topic. There I found hints:

    Rebooting the Mac. ( didn't work for me)
    Killing the svchost - task in XP ( also didn't work )

    Found another strange thing:

    Paralles runs at 2% CPU ... WITHOUT a VM running.
    Just for showing the config-window.

    ...and 3036 consumes 7% CPU while in "Pause". Makes me curious what pause is actually pausing.
