XP Virtual Machine kills OSX internet but works on XP

Hi There,

I have never had this problem before, but I just signed up for wireless broadband and there is a modem that connects to my pc via Ethernet.

As soon as I start the XP virtual machine the internet works great on my virtual XP machine, but it kills the OSX internet connection.

Any ideas?

is it hardwired ethernet from a router?
before starting the VM

in which case set up the Mac OS connection by deleting all old connections and letting the Mac find the connection in the usual way

My VM is set to Shared connection

if wireless please ignore this reply
