You win some, you lose some (EA Desktop runs, Dragon Age 3 doesn't)

I was (still am actually) having great difficulty getting Dragon Age Inquisition to run on my M1 MacBook Air, so I thought I might try a different launcher than EA Origin. So I tried the EA Desktop Beta...and it worked. The installer crashed with an odd error, but after a reboot all was well. Well the beta part worked, but Dragon Age still failed to launch. Mass Effect 1 launched without a hitch though, just as it does under Origin.
Any hints on how to get Dragon Age Inquisition working? I tried a million different compatibility options until I was blue in the face...
