I brought my XP Home image across from my laptop using transporter and soon thereafter I was in a quandry, no CD-ROM. The Device (real or virtual) showed in device manager, but it always had the yellow exclamation - and there was no CD-ROM letter. Turned out somehow in the translation to Parallels I stumbled onto a Windows bug that can be cured by removing some offending keys in the registry, see below: http://www.siliconguide.com/qa/forum/messages/71.shtml I originally thought it was some sort of Parallels thing, but not so.
