I enjoy using Parallels to play games. The Standard Edition is not powerful enough to run many of the modern games. I prefer a permanent license for the Pro version but that isn't an available option to me. If I shelve my macbook pro and don't come back for a year or more I don't want to come back to a virtual machine that I can't access to use as the license has expired. So if I were to up up my Standard Edition to Pro for a time now can I later downgrade my pro to Standard Ed one time...

Issue with "Share Mac applications with Windows"

On macOS 26 and Parallels Desktop 26, even when "Share Mac applications with Windows" is disabled, running start http://xxx.com in a Windows virtual machine still launches the macOS default browser if no browser is installed in Windows.

Why does Parallels still redirect HTTP/HTTPS links to macOS in this case, and is there a way to completely prevent this behavior so that the link is not handed off to macOS at all?

Parallels tools installer doesn't check for sudo before installing

Screenshot below. In a base install of debian, sudo isn't installed by default. This causes certain commands to fail within the installer. That said, looking at the script, if it's running as root then it really doesn't need sudo in the first place.
Perhaps something like this toward the beginning of the script might help:

I like to use coherence mode, for which I have to enable sharing Windows apps with MacOS, but my spotlight gets cluttered with certain windows apps. Sometimes I search for an app and accidentally end up opening a Windows app, which means I have to wait for the VM to start up, close the app, and close the VM.

On the other hand, as I said, I like to use coherence mode, and it is indeed nice to be able to open certain Windows apps from spotlight as if they were MacOS apps, but maybe I don't...

I am wondering if there is currently a roadmap for the continued support of Parallels Desktop for Mac Intel ?
MacOS Tahoe is apparently the last release that will support Mac Intel, and the next MacOS release is due in roughly one month, so MacOS Intel support from Apple has only about a month left.
I am wondering if there is an estimate for how long Parallels will continue to release new versions for MacOS Intel, and how long official support will continue for the Intel versions?

I'm on macOS 26.3 on an M4 Max MacBook Pro. Since the first 26.3 beta if I remember correctly, leaving my Windows 11 VM running in the background eventually puts my Mac into a state where it's constantly stuttering and freezing for half a second. Closing Parallels once in this state has no effect and I have to reboot. I've confirmed it is Parallels by not running it for over 3 weeks with no issues, and opening it yesterday causing stutters this morning. It seems like a GPU issue if anything...

Are anyone else experiencing this?

I was having multiple crashes past 2-3 weeks after the 26.3.1 update but didn't think Parallels Desktop was related to it. But today, the crash was very consistent and only happening when running one of my VM's.

After the update to 26.3.2 a couple of hours ago, I was booting my VM's one by one to check for Parallels Tool updates for each guest VM. Almost no other apps are running except for Parallels Desktop. I boot each VM one at a time only...

I had to factory reset my MacOS today and now my lifetime permanent license for Parallels Desktop 18 must be upgraded because Parallels Desktop 26 is the only option.

What an absolute scam. Cleverbridge and Parallels are the scummiest providers I've ever dealt with in technology.

I updated parallels today, and now when I print with my dtf software i'm getting a shadow around my images, it was working fine up until i updated. It works if I use my laptop but not my mac! Can I remove the update?

This is a long established VM, which has worked for years through multiple Mac OS, Parallels and windows version upgrades.
I will attach a screen shot = "no operating system"
However, if I "ESC" from the "virtual" shell, I can select boot options and it will run, eg selecting: Windows Boot, EFI drive, etc.
I tried to change the boot order within the shell dialog, but it seems to only exist for the current session - ie save does NOT survive a shut-down restart of the vitual machine.

I am very disappointed with support, I have sent 8 messages to them no one has replied. I can't P2V my windows laptop using parallals tools. I can using VMware and even Veeam back it up ok, so I can restore them both into fusion. Would I recommend this an absolutely NO. I would have I bought it, But the lack of response from support. Use Fusion it is free and far better support

hi, I'm using Version 26.2.2. using my mac with 1 or 2 extra monitors.
my problem is; display settings in windows not saved anymore. Whenever I open windows on parallels, it always opens in extended display settings. Then I have to change it back (to show only on 1)every time. I can't remember when it's changed but couple weeks ago i could save my display settings on windows(show only on 1, extend, duplicate etc.)

Trying to use Windows Quick Assist, I have a MacBook Air running Parallels Desktop 26 and have created a Windows 11 machine.
On the Windows 11 Machine, I open Quick Assist and click Help Somebody, give them the code, the user I am trying to help says they get the following error.

We ended the connection because the minimum security requirements on the helper side we not met, no need to report this, were on it.

recently upgraded my instance of Parallels to version 26.2.0 (57363) and instantly regretted it. I have a FreeBSD 14.2 virtual machine configured as "Other" OS that started kernel panicking on every boot. The worst part is, I've heard that this is usually resolved by updating the operating system, but I can't even navigate the BIOS/UEFI screens because the virtual machine receives NO keyboard input no mater what I do. My Linux VM and Windows VM are unaffected.
