I'm currently running 10.5.2, Parallels build 5584 and XP SP2 (in boot camp partition). I want to upgrade to 10.5.3 and XP SP3 and the latest build of parallels. Firstly are these all compatible? Secondly, in what order should I do the upgrades?
I'm running all those myself. Update order: 1. OS X 10.5.3 update * 2. Parallels 3 build 5600 3. Boot Camp 2.1 <-- Run Apple software Updater under Windows 4. XP SP3 * OS X 10.5.3 can be applied at anytime really.
ok thanks Specimen. Is your experience that it all works ok? I use this as my work machine and can't afford for something to go wrong! From reading another thread it looks like there are graphics issues.
If you do it it this order, then you shouldn't have problems, I don't have and I didn't do it in that order, since I didn't wait for Parallels to release 5600 and installed SP3 (and had problems and fixed them).
OK, I upgraded to 10.5.3, I updated parallels and the parallels drivers within Windows. And I've got the flickering graphics issue. Putting command prompt full screen and exiting again does indeed resolve the issue for about 5 mins and then it comes back. How do I fix this permanently? thanks. (MacBook Pro)
Hello Flatdog, You need to download the latest parallels build 5604 that will resolve the flickering problem.
Here are the links: download build 5604 following link bellow: http://download.parallels.com/v3/en/...604-Mac-en.dmg and reinstall Parallels Desktop as described in kb http://kb.parallels.com/en/4790 Install Parallels Tools and increase video memory to 4 mb, also you can try to lower resolution, if it is very high.
