Using current build of PD 4 on a Mac with Snow Leopard with XP SP3 as guest OS. Probably since the upgrade to SL compatible version of PD4, whenever I close down PD 4 I am asked a question which is something like 'click accept to make changes to disks or ignore to re-set to original'. Clicking Accept then takes me to another screen which says it is removing backup discs and just takes forever to close down. Any ideas what is going on and does the upgrade to PD 5 resolve this? Thanks Andy
There is a new feature for Parallels Desktop - Undo Disks. This feature allows to rollback VirtualMachine to the state before it was start. Take a look into the VM configuration (menu of Parallels Desktop "Virtual Machine" -> "Configure" -> "Options" -> "Undo Disks"
Thanks Elric. Spotted that and have unchecked the option, now closes as quickly as I expected. Not sure however why Parallels never completely closes without typing Apple key/Q ie from keyboard rather than Apple / close on-screen. Any ideas on that? Regards, Andy
I believe it will also close on choosing Parallels Desktop -> Quit from menu I suppose it is due to intensive and time-consuming startup process of Parallels Desktop gui. Just want to say that this startup is normal for such processes and is not Parallels specific. Btw, when Parallels (and any other process) is not closed completely and is not active, it doesn't consume any resources and the only impact is that its icon occupies space in Dock..
