Hey everyone, very new to this whole thing so I'm probably making some stupid mistakes, but I have to ask.

I just got a brand new 27" iMac and downloaded the Parallels 5 trial to test it out to make sure I want to purchase it, as I'm sure with many people; my business uses many Windows only applications.

I installed Windows XP and then an update for Windows 7. They both worked and the internet and sound worked in XP. When upgrading to 7 neither of those work. I read to fix the sound, you need to download the updates; but with no internet I can't download and install updates.

Any help with this would be appreciated. I've used the tools to try and change what internet device it uses to no avail...I'm lost and there's so many threads on here, it's hard to find one that might help me/

I have the same issue John. I too have a brand new 27 inch iMac and just installed Parallels Desktop 5 with Windows 7 Professional. It seemed to install fine and I had sound and internet connection at first but after rebooting I lost both. Now Windows update doesn't work, and many of the apps crash or stop working. I'm really new to all of this too so am feeling a really out of my depth. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't even know where to look first.

Thanks Elric, I had no idea this was an option. As I said above, I'm brand new to all of this and am feeling like a fish out of water. I just sent the problem report, the ID is 1819028.
