Parallels 6 won't run on Snow Leopard

I just installed the trial of Parallels 6 on Snow Leopard. It tries to start up, then just dies. The three prl_* activities are running. Here is the log:

I'm not sure why my last reply hasn't shown up.

I figured it out. An out-of-the-box mac doesn't work with Parallels Desktop 6, Parallels simply won't start.

Even with the migration from an up-to-date Snow Leopard, the base installation is incompatible. Simply run software update first, reboot, and Parallels 6 will then open just fine.

I'm having this problem (I think), and not having any luck... which software update? I'm running an up-to-date version of Mac OS X 10.6 (10.6.4). There are no new OS updates. I've installed the latest version of V6 (ParallelsDesktop-parallels-en_US-6.0.11822.604190). Still, the Parallels never gets past showing the menu bar.

Same problem

Although this thread is somewhat old, this is exactly the same problem I am having. I'm on OSX 10.6.8. What software update was being discussed here. Is there a fix for this yet?

btw, my Parallels ran perfectly for a long time then this started happening. I have done a COMPLETE uninstall from Mac using a script given to me by Parallels team to ensure all remnants are gone. Fresh install still crashes immediately. The Parallels team have stopped communicating with me now and I can't get any help.
