Parallels 6 automatically suspending/pausing windows

Hei,

Parallels keeps suspending (or pausing) windows (boot camp) automatically after some time of inactivity (~1min or something). If in coherence it will resume when activating a windows program/menu. If in "normal mode" I get a grey-ish screen where I have to click on "resume windows".
this is really irritating as it keeps suspending when I'm switching between windows, and I would like to increase the time before is suspends - or turn this off completely.

I can't seem to find anything about this in parallels or on google. Can someone help me?
 
Check in Windows Control Panel->Energy saver Options ...you should set there the idle time for stand by/suspend
You should see a "Parallels plan" as an energy saver configuration.

nope, doesn't work.
now it seems it goes to sleep even faster.
sometimes I have problems shutting down windows because it is suspended.
 
it's windows 7,
and the screensaver is disabled and it's set to never hibernate.

sure this isn't a parallels setting?
it suspends even if there active processes (like dropbox still syncing, or updates being downloaded) if I don't directly interact with with it.

I suggest you to go to Parallels Desktop dropdown menu -> Virtual machine -> Configure -> Options -> Applications and check if "Pause Windows when no applications are open" is checked. If it is checked, please uncheck it and see if it helps.

If it is not helping then reproduce the issue once again and send a problem report to Parallels team right after it's reproduced by going to Parallels Desktop dropdown menu -> Help -> Report a problem. Post problem report ID here.
 
Parallels can suspend the machine very quickly (around 5 seconds) so you can quit the app freeing up resources. I use it quite a lot as my computing class requires Windows.
