OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update

I updated my MacBook Pro today (28 Feb 2014) to OS X Mavericks 10.9.2. After the update and reboot I became incredibly frustrated very quickly when coherence mode was suddenly no longer working. I could switch out of coherence mode and see that all the Windows applications I was trying to run had in fact launched in the virtual machine, but I wasn't able to interact with these applications from my Mac in coherence mode. I tried restarted the laptop several times and stopping and starting the VM none of this worked.

I did finally get coherence mode back up and running again by simply reinstalling the Parallels 9 DMG file. After a reinstall over the top of my current installation, I restarted the Windows 7 VM and switched to coherence mode and everything is now working again.

If you have upgraded to the 10.9.2 update for OS X Mavericks and are unable to run your applications in coherence mode, I hope this thread helps you out.

Cheers!

Hi LoganIX77,

Maybe you tried this, but I wonder if just re-installing parallel tools might have resolved it rather than a complete re-install.

Kevin,

Can you elaborate on what you mean by this? I reinstalled Parallels Desktop, but I didn't not remove/recreate my Windows 7 VM. After reinstalling, which only took a few seconds since I still had my Parallels Desktop 9 download, everything is now working.

If you think it would be better to try reinstalling just the "Parallels Tools" instead of the application, can you explain?

Thanks!

I appreciate you did not re-create your VM and only re-installed parallels 9 application. It was just that I've had lots of experiences where re-installing just the Parallel tools itself seems to fix most things. Not sure why this is, but I had a similar issue myself after upgrading to 10.9.2 last week.

Glad you are all ok which is the main thing

Regards
Kevin

I tried to run a trial for parallels 9 but the software cannot connect to the internet to complete installation. I have contacted the parallels team but have not had any luck with the suggestions they have given me. Has anyone had this issue before or know what else I can do to have parallels connect to the internet in order to complete the activation?
