Dear Parallels, why we must pay every year upgrade parallels to newest version ? Mac OS X is a free version. I pay for version 8, for version 9, for version 10, and today if I wants to my windows 10 working stable on parallels, i must pay. This is redicouls for customer who paid all these version. Hi, Parallels is a software company that focuses its resources on creating virtualization software to support both the Mac and Windows communities. Since Apple releases new operating systems every year, we have to keep our software up-to-date to be compatible with every new OS X getting released annually. This development is very resource-consuming and comes with costs, and unlike Apple (which sells a lot of hardware products and able to afford free-of-charge OS upgrade) it is not feasible for Parallels to offer no charge upgrades to the new versions of Parallels Desktop. I agree it sucks to have to pay for an upgrade every year. But you have to consider that for a year you get patches for the current version. Also these guys are in business to make money and to support themselves. Although painful to upgrade, I dont neccesarily think you have too. Im running Win 10 in Paralles 10 with no issues. If we want the latest and greatest we gotta pay, because it helps keep parallels in business. These guys most likely have a passion and love for what they do. But those two things don't help pay the bills.
