    Hello, I am in somewhat of a dilemma. In 2010 I invested in a Mac Pro with the intention of using it with specific music related hardware that, at the time, only worked in Windows but now supports both platforms. For the last several years I mainly ran Windows with bootcamp and the virtual machine method never fully worked.

    Fast forward to now, I recently updated from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion 10.8.5 as my afore mentioned hardware now _finally_ supports both PC and Mac (Roland VS-700) it just took them a very long time to get it working on Mountain Lion.

    So here's the issue I should have seen coming. The outdated version of Parallels 5 I still have taking up space cannot start anymore really serves no purpose. I want to completely uninstall both Parallels 5 (which... won't even start in Mountain Lion) and it's associated virtual machine (Windows Professional 7 - 64).

    What is the best way to do this? Please don't tell me I have to roll back to Snow Leopard again... Good news is everything is backed up! :)

    Hi if I understand you correctly you would like to remove Parallels Desktop completely, in this case please use this KB.
    Also if you would like to remove your VM -> perform the steps below:
    1. Finder -> Documents -> Parallels
    2. Locate and remove Windows VM
