Start up problem: "Error occurred while writing to the sound device default"

Can someone please help me here? I keep getting this error when starting Windows 7 on the latest version of Parallels:
"Error occurred while writing to the sound device default"
Running this on Mac Pro (Late 2013): El Capitan OS X 10.11 (15A284)
Parallels version: 11.0.1 (31277)
Just upgraded to:
Version 11.0.2 (31348)
Still does the same thing.
And this solution suggested by Parallels does NOT work:
1- shutdown the virtual machine
2- open virtual machine config > hardware > sound
3- Click on the restore defaults button

Thank you! That worked. Although this is temporary, correct? Does this mean the input to Windows 7 will not work until a permanent fix is completed?

This problem came back again. Changing it to mute only works for the current boot. When you restart it goes back to default. Even when I lock the settings down.

I have the same problem.

I have brand new Mac Mini that I just purchased this week.
It is running El Capitan OS X version 10.11.1 with Parallels version 11.0.2.
When I start up Windows 7, I too am getting "Error occurred while writing to the sound device default" error.

I tried doing as suggested in this post by opening VM's configuration and
Switch to Hardware tab > Sound > Set Input to Mute and set Output to "Build in Output".

It would solve the problem for that boot up. But after exiting the VM and restarting the VM, the problem returns for all the subsequent VM startups. It seems like the setting is not saved and maintained. But instead, it is temporary and keeps getting reset back to the default values. I tried what was suggested numerous times, and every time, the settings kept being reset to the defaults on the subsequent restarts of the VMs.

Please advise.

Please create a Problem Report for the virtual machine as described here http://kb.parallels.com/en/9058 and provide us with the Problem Report ID.
