I just got my first mac last week and yesterday got parallels 11 pro. Followed instructions to install parallels and migrated windows...took 21 hours to migrate and then looked like windows was starting up, but said its configuring windows 7 for virtual machine..then an startup repair error saying I tried to cancel the operation, but I didnt, then more errors and back to the configuring and over n over again with same thing...see screenshots. I am new to macs so maybe I am doing something wrong? The windows 7 on my pc was preinstalled and the install disk is installed as a hidden partition on the hdd, so not sure how I could use that to reinstall windows in the vm. My mac is newest late 2015 imac running osx 10.11.2 el capitan and is a 4.2ghz core i7 with 24gb ram. I was trying to install/migrate the win7 to an external 2tb hdd dedicated for the windows. Ive searched the knowledgebase but cant find any solution.
Hello Chrisl1, Please follow steps suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/113201 to resolve, if issue persists please migrate Windows again.Prior to migration process please follow best practices by referring to http://kb.parallels.com/113201
I had already uninstalled firewall and antivirus...what native drivers to uninstall? Wont the pc stop working if I uninstall drivers, how to run the transportagent?
Hello Chrisl1, No, the drivers in Windows will automatically reinstall after you restart your PC. Please download transporter agent using the link http://www.parallels.com/download/pta-win/ and refer to http://kb.parallels.com/115007 for additional information.
No I meant how would I run the transporter agent if I uninstalled all the windows drivers and then windows wont run
Just so I dont mess anything up...what should I be deleting in windows control panel -> driver and control panel ->programs and features
Deleted all the drivers as you suggested to the point the windows machine is barely even usable and migrated for another 20 hours and still does exact same thing....love how on migration instructions says your windows pc wont be affected...yeah right....what a waste of $99
