Cannot Set Ethernet Metered Connection After Windows 10 AU

I must have a metered connection to manage Win10 updates without incurring high costs. I have been using the Registry adjustment method to change Ethernet permissions to select metered Ethernet connection in Win10. However, I just got the Windows 10 AU and found that the setting was changed back to 1 from 2. I applied the same Registry adjustment again and found that Windows 10 AU will no longer permit the change from 1 to 2.
If there is no workaround, I will probably be forced to drop Windows and Parallels and do everything on the Mac. This could be a problem for many other users who need metered connections, unless Parallels can find a solution. I love using Parallels and Windows, but this problem could end it for me.

Only wireless connections can be metered in Windows 10. The network adapter that Parallels emulates is wired and Windows doesn't have the setting for it.

The CNET Registry hack is the one that worked before Win10 AU, but that update has now blocked this hack in the Registry. I do not want to lose the ability to update because Windows has so many holes (which O/S 10 does not have). Any idea how this dilemma can be solved? Thanks.
