Latest update (12.1.1) broke my Windows XP

Since I installed the latest update my Windows XP setup has gone haywire. I get several "found new hardware" alerts on startup, which I wasn't getting before. More troubling, I can't get access to folders. On startup I get:
"\\Mac\Home\Desktop is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the network administrator..."
I don't know why it's suddenly decided my desktop is a network resource - nor why I don't have permission to access it. Programs run OK but any file related operations (open, save etc) give a similar error message, also referring to my folders as a network resource. My Windows 8.1 VM continues to work fine. However, I have two programs that won't run on 8.1 so I need to XP VM to be available also.
Has anyone come across this issue before, any hints, fixes? Thanks!

Hello, It seems that you're on an outdated build of Parallels Tools drivers for Parallels Desktop 12, it needs to be updated (Actions > Update Parallels Tools).

Ah, thanks PaulChris, that did fix it. You'd think the installer would be smart enough to update the drivers at install time - or at least provide a warning so the user could go ahead and update them. Might be a good thought for a future release. Thanks for the fast reply, got me back in business right away!
