PDFs on Mac host won't open in Preview

I am using Parallels 12.1.1, macOS 10.12.1 and my Mac no longer will open PDFs in Preview when I double-click the file. When I double-click on the PDF on the Mac, it will launch a Windows 10 VM and open the PDF inside the VM. This behavior started when I right clicked on a PDF on the Mac and opened it with FoxIt on the Windows 10 VM. A small dialog asked me if I always wanted to open these document types using FoxIt. I thought it was a Windows dialog and I clicked "yes." I now realize that it was a Parallels dialog. How do I undo this behavior so that .PDFs on the Mac open in Preview?

I've tried the following but there are still some PDFs that are not working correctly:
1) Right clicked PDF file, select Other, then select Preview and check "always open"
2) Rebuilt the launch database

Please try the below steps & keep us posted
1. Right click on the PDF file and choose "Get info"
2. In "open with" section, choose " Preview.app" (Use this application to open all documents like this one & click on change all"
