Migrating from one VM to another

I have a VM running Windows XP under Parallels 12.1.1
It is about time I used a newer version of Windows and am planning to purchase Windows 10 to install on a new VM
I know that it is possible to migrate software from a PC to a VM.
However is it possible to migrate Office that is installed on the first VM to the second?
Otherwise I will need to buy a new copy of Office because I do not have the original installation discs.

I doubt you can migrate an Office installation to another PC, it would make illegal usage way too easy. I think MS support can help you retrieving the license key from the old Office installation, it's worth calling them.

Hey, I agree with @CatalinT and you can just install Office on your new VM and ask MS support for help with the key.
Let us know if you need any help.

Thanks. I thought that may be the case.
However it is ironic that I could clone (migrate) a whole PC without apparently running into licensing problems.

If you find some, you can ask us or MS support for the help. Will be glad to assist you.
