With Parallels Desktop 11, I have been using Win7 in my iMac5k (run by Yosemite ver 10.10.5).

It just happened that Win7 seemed to be started but did not show anything other than a gray blank window (attached figure). Entering a coherent mode, Parallels popped up a Korean error message, which translates into "Cannot enter a coherent mode: It cannot apply display configuration of virtual machine. Please try again."

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Best,
    Sunmin

    Hi SunminR,
Try the below steps and check if that helps you
    1. Uninstall Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac using PDRemove.zip
    2. Run First Aid on Macintosh Hard Drive
    Open Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities/)
Select your Mac OS X startup volume (Macintosh HD by default) in the column on the left of the Disk Utility window, then click the First Aid tab.
    3. Reinstall Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac

    Hi Paul,
Thank you for the tip. I assume that uninstalling PD also means removing my virtual machine running on Win7. Is that correct? Because I have large email data which are tricky to back up, I am looking for a way around the difficulty.

    Best,
    Sunmin

    Dear SunminR,
Like most of the applications on a Mac, Parallels Desktop does not require uninstallation - simply move the application to Trash.
Note: Your virtual machines will not be affected by this procedure -- only the Parallels Desktop application will be uninstalled.
