I apologize if this has been answered - but I couldn't find anything in my searches.

I'm using Parallels 12, and tried to update my Windows virtual machine to the Windows 10 Creator Edition.

I did this update from within my Windows virtual machine. Everything went smoothly, until after the restart, when I received a message from OS X indicating that for security reasons, the new changes would be temporary, and only apply to the current virtual machine. The error message was:

"OS X has prevented guest operating system from changing boot loader..." (I've truncated the entire message).

My version of windows is presently version 1607 (Build 14393.1358).

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Scott

Are you using a Bootcamp based VM or a Standalone VM?

Forgive my ignorance - I believe it's Bootcamp based. I originally installed windows using bootcamp. However, there was no issue like this that I recall when I updated to windows 10. I believe it was all done within parallels.

Hi @grahasc, please boot your native Windows BootCamp and update it to the Creators update. Then, create a new BootCamp based virtual machine in Parallels Desktop.
