How to get internet explorer to see a website hosted on the mac

I'm doing web development on the mac. Which includes running a node server and a variety of other frameworks. Is there a way to get internet explorer to see the website I'm hosting on my mac? I've already tried typing in the url in ie, but it says it can't find the website. So is there a way to redirect windows traffic through the mac first, and then to the network?

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately that article talks about the mac connecting to the internet through windows. What I need is for windows to look to the mac for the localhost url.

Let me try to clarify.
I'm developing a website on the mac and using node to run the server on the mac. While running the website on my computer, I can access the site with the url http://localhost:9080/. What I would like to do it reroute ie's localhost to the macs localhost. So ie can open the url http://localhost:9080/ that is being hosted via Node on my mac.

Did you figure this out? I have a site that I develop for locally on my mac for work and I can't figure out how to access it from inside the windows VM for testing in IE and Edge
