Unable to move VM

    I'm wanting to move my XP VM to an external drive, but whenever I try moving the folder I get the following error:

    Sorry the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occurred
    (Error code -1309)

    Hi,

    Please check the free space on your external drive and compare it with VM folder size. It seems you do not have enough free space on you external drive.

    I had plenty of drive space.

    Would it matter if the external drive was formatted FAT32?

    yes because FAT32 not support files more than 4 Gb

    don't move it

    clone it
    check that it runs

    back up again by cloning the clone to another location

    then delete the original if you need the space
