    Hello,
If I disable sharing, would I be able to connect to another Mac running Parallels
in my LAN (Local Area Network via Ethernet)?
(e.g. for playing games with LAN multiplayer)
If so, could this cause potential security risks for the Macs?
    Thank you!

  2. Hi RainerB. You need to set the network source to 'Default Adapter' in the virtual machine's configuration window. Only then you can access the devices which are located in your network.

    Thank you!
And this works with sharing disabled and does not pose a security risk to the Macs?

Sorry, but I have to know this before buying:
Does this work with sharing disabled (= separation between Windows and Mac)
and does it not pose a security risk to the Macs?

  5. File sharing option is used to share the files and folders between the host and guest OS only. Even if you disable the file sharing option and set the network source to 'Default Adapter', IP address to the virtual machine will be assigned directly from the router/modem so that you can access other machines on the same network without any issues. Disabling the file sharing option does not pose any security risk on the Mac side.
