After having issues with my CentOS VM in Parallels 13, I decided to upgrade to version 14 and create a new VM. However, when I use the CentOS download button to create a new VM, there is no option for me to change the default user name. It is set to parallels. And I am not sure how to change that later. The problem is that I want to mount an external drive, but it will mount using the parallels user and group name and my new user doesn't have permission to view the contents of the drive.

I also tried downloading the latest ISO from CentOS but then I am getting GNOME shell errors.

  2. Hi @EstherJ I found this solution for the GNOME shell error :
    sudo apt remove chrome-gnome-shell
Please check this, does it work for you?

Not sure if this is the correct answer. I use CentOS which uses yum instead of apt for installing packages. There is also no package named chrome-gnome-shell installed.
