Record video of the entire screen does not record to menu bar

I have had no luck recording the top menu bar on my screen when using the tool mentioned above (I made sure I used the full screen option, not the window one).
In this respect, either rename the tool "menu-less screen" or correct this problem. This is not very useful as such to record a demonstration of how a Mac program works.
As a note, I am using two screens, but I am not interested in the one without menu.

some questions about your problem:
- are you trying to record main screen or secondary?
- does program on screen in Full Screen mode or not?
- Please try 'Record Area' tool instead of 'Record Screen' and select entire screen as area to be recorded. Is the result the same?

The app is not in full screen therefore the macOS menu is visible
Record Area doesn't allow including the macOS menu

Record Area allows you to select any area on the screen, including the system menu. Is that not so for you? Are you unable to move mouse over system menu while selecting the area to record or what?

Indeed. I don't know why I did have the impression it did not after I tried...
