May we ask you for a tech report? You can start the terminal command as described hereYup, I am on the latest release (I did check for updates, and it was already current - see attached), and it failed the same way again.
Thanks a lot! We've forwarded your tech report to the Engineering team for the further issue investigation.I just sent in 'another' technical report (353055640).
Hi, could you please choose Apple HV at the VM configuration, then reproduce the issue and collect new tech report.I just sent in 'another' technical report (353055640).
Thanks a lot for the provided information.I just submitted a new tech report (353843093) showing my latest attempt to launch Parallels 16 using the Apple Hypervisor, also running the new macOS BIg Sur 11.0.1 beta 2 (20B5022a).
After the installation the app requested system restart which I immediately performed.
However, now every time I try to open it I get asked "To complete Parallels Desktop setup, please restart your Mac [Quit] [Restart]".
2 restarts later still the same popup.
I tried deleting the app, restarting the system and installing it again. Still, the same result - the pop up asking me to restart the Mac.
macOS Big Sur 11.0 Beta (20A5343j) on 2017 MacBook Pro 13" upgraded from macOS Catalina 10.15.6 and the previous latest version of Parallels Desktop.
Thank you in advance to anyone for any suggestions.
Hello,I am running 16.1.0 with big sur full installation on a MacBook Pro 13" and parallels wont load up, it is constantly stuck on the starting screen.... I have gone back to 15 and that was the same so reinstalled up to 16.1.0 ..... cannot get windows to run. I use this for business to run SAGE accounts and it is now extremely disappointing and frustrating
Hi, what is your Parallels Desktop version?I am on Big Sur Public release, and have already uninstalled Virtual Box. I still get the following error message:
To start the virtual machine, please restart your Mac first.
It has not been restarted after the Parallels Hypervisor System Extension was allowed.
Hello, please also do not forget to keep your Parallels Desktop version updated, the latest version is 16.1.1I am running Parallels v16.0.1 (48950), and have tried to keep it current. However, it still doesn't, so I have to rely on VMware Fusion to run Windows apps on my Mac (at least it's free). I am very close to just "giving up" on Parallels, and will not recommend it to any of my Mac clients until this somehow gets resolved.
This worked for me! Thanks!!@LeeR6 Try this:
This worked for me until they get this fixed. It is not perfect, as things run slow and graphics are blurry.
1. Locate the virtual machine's file as described in this article: https://kb.parallels.com/en/117333
(It is usually in your user folder under Parallels folder)
2. Right-click on it > Show Package contents.
3. Inside you will see a config.pvs. Right-click config.pvs > Open with TextEdit.
4. Inside of it find (CMD+F) the following part:
<HypervisorType>0</HypervisorType>
and change it to
<HypervisorType>1</HypervisorType>
Save the changes.
5. Run Parallels Desktop. Run the virtual machine. If prompted to reset the virtual machine, do it.
