    Hi,

I've just updated 2x PowerBooks and 1x MacMini to 10.4.11 (downloaded & used the combo updater in all cases). All were fairly straightforward, but some of the install/reboot sequences dragged on a bit.

I have a MacBook Pro to do next, but as that is what I'm running Parallels v3.0 b 5160 on, I'd like to hear if anyone had had any issues generated by this update with the VM software. I'm holding off the Leopard update till at least 10.5.2...

Anyone had anything strange or bad happen to them post-update?

I have had loads of Parallels crashes/quits since installing the 10.4.11 update (MacBook Pro, 4GB Ram, 2.4GHz core 2 Duo) using XP and Vista.
Am now reverting to a backup system with 10.4.10 on it!

    Hi,

I installed 10.4.11 at the local Apple store on 10/14/07. Also running Parallels 3.0 5160. I run Vista Home Premuim in a virtual disk, and XP in a Bootcamp partition. I have had no problems to date (three days). Have not run many programs in either (XP or Vista)...IE, Adode reader, Media Player, but have done Windows Updates in both. Have not yet run XP in Bootcamp, so can not report on that. MacBook Pro 15" 2.16 Core Duo 2gb ram. Hope all goes well for you.

    Take Care,
    Kevin

    10.4.11 Broke Parallels for me!

Help, Parallels build 3214 won't load XP like it used to with 10.4.11. Fans go crazy and gets hung up on the Welcome page every time! :(

    Any way to fix this?

I am using 2.5 (build 3214) with 10.4.11 with no problems so far.

If you have done the usual troubleshooting routine, i.e., shutting down your VM, restarting your Mac, running Repair Disk from Disk Utility, emptying caches with Applejack or another similar utility such as Onyx, running DiskWarrior, reinstalling 10.4.11 from the combo updater (not Software Update), etc., maybe you should try uninstalling and reinstalling Parallels.

    Didn't work

Verified and repaired permissions, used Onyx, reinstalled 10.4.11 using combo. Same thing. Beach ball starting XP.

Yesterday I updated to Tiger 10.4.11, and then updated from to Parallels 5160 from the version I purchased a few weeks ago. I lost connectivity with the internet in my virtual machine and discovered two red dots where there are supposed to be green dots when I single clicked the Internet globe in System Preferences.

I switched the VM configuration of "Shared Networking" to "Bridged Ethernet" (which says it's the default setting) and everything seems to work.

Well, I must admit a bit of trepidation (as the mac Mini wireless sensitivity problem is still there), but the MBP upgrade went well, and have had no problems with the Vista Ultimate VM in Parallels that is my daily work environment.

Even connecting to the secured work wifi via PEAP (Internet Connect) was seamless. :)

I used the 10.4.11 combo (Intel) update package, did a repair permissions, ran Onyx and flushed all caches, then once was happy rebooted yet again after blitzing the PRAM.
