    Hi,
I'm interested in buying Parallels, but I'm not quite sure which version to get yet.

I study mechanical engineering and planing on using it for simulations (Ansys for example) and therefore don't know if I should get the pro version or not.
However there is only a discount for the standard subscription version.
Therefore I thinking of maybe buying the lifetime license and then upgrading to the pro version for the study period.
But now I'm not quite sure if the lifetime license still works after the pro version expires.
Or does the upgrade don't even work?

    Looking forward to your reply!

Hi, please visit this KB article for checking the difference between Parallels Desktop Standard Edition and Pro Edition. Once you upgrade from Parallels Desktop permanent license to Pro version, it is not possible to go back. Please let us know if you have any further queries.

Hi, thanks for the reply! :)

I actually have another question regarding upgrading from an old license.
My dad remembered that he still has an old license of parallels 5.
Now we both wondered if I could use this old license and buy a upgrade from that?

The license is registered to an old email address which he does not use anymore.
Is a transfer of the license to a new email possible?

    Looking forward to your reply!

Hello, yes, if you have any Parallels Desktop old version you are eligible for an upgrade to the latest version of Parallels Desktop. And for your second query, yes, you can transfer the license key to a new account.
