Desperately trying to recover files

Hello
I have Parallels on MAC M1 with Windows 11. MAC is sick, only boots in safe mood. Apple Care has exhausted all options, wants me to reformat//reinstall.
The places the doc says the PVM files are... are not there. I do find 2 pvm files in Group Containers, one of them is quite large and clearly contains the VM image, how can I open this PVM and recover files?

I've made a copy of these files on an external drive but worried that I won't be able to get the files back on the newly reformatted system.

Please help, I really need some of the files on that volume.
