Kali Linux 2022.2 Parallels Tools installation

I am following the instructions to install Parallels Tools within Kali Linux and I get the following error, any assistance will be appreciated, thanks

Wait... that was stupid of me. You're already logged in as root, so there's no need for sudo. Just run ./install.

If you log out of root you need to use sudo.
If you're already logged in as root, you don't use sudo.

You must remount the CD-ROM with the execution flag turned on.

sudo mount -oro,exec,remount /media/cdrom
I got past this point but the installer itself fails since it has to compile kernel modules. Found a couple other threads on the forums where people successfully compiled but I believe that was under 2022.1.
