Can't Uninstall/Delete Parallels from my Mac Desktop

Hi, I'm trying to delete the Parallels Desktop and Tools from my iMac. I continue to get an error message that tells me that I can't delete for software, because it needs to be downloaded, while it's literally sitting on my Desktop. I've tried all of the options through Support, even trying to delete it through my Terminal App as instructed and I still can get rid of it. Can anyone out there assist?
