Any discount to switch from vmware to parallels?

Still thinking about switching or not from VmWare Fusion 10 to Parallels v14... Upgrade to the next release VmWare Fusion version is likely to be half the price of a brand new Parallels license. Any competitive upgrade planned? Is it worth waiting for Mojave availability?

    3.0 and CPU utilization

It really seems that CPU load is * excellent w/ WinXP: very low CPU usage on the host when the guess is idle * good for Win2k: low CPU usage in the same conditions, while higher than w/ XP: about 25% * quite poor w/ Linux: 45-55% on host while the guest OS is idle (Debian w/ kernel...

Wow, I did not know that. This is a major issue, I really hope Parallels will fix it for the next official release!

Shared folders and buggy file permissions

Hi, It seems there is a serious issue w/ Parallels VM RC1 (build 3120) with the shared folder feature: When OSX files (HDF+) are modified from a Parallels VM - running Win2k SP4 if that matters - through the shared folder feature, the file permissions on the native partition are not as...

    Decrease Image Size

Hi, I've been looking for reducing my virtual disk image that contains a ReiserFS 3 partition, without any luck: none of the proposed methods from Parallels led to actually shrink down the image file. Compressing the hard disk image from the VM configuration/hard drive/Compact page took a long...

Parallels compressor trashes a Win2k image

I do not want to try to reproduce it w/ the latest RC, but did it fix the return-to-console-view issue when a BSOD is displayed? This should be easy to fix and would make bug report easier.

Parallels compressor trashes a Win2k image

BTW, isn't it really stupid to allow large JPEG files in the forums while limiting PNG files to nearly unusable sizes for snapshots? A 25kB PNG snapshot ends up encoded to a 100kB JPEG file, while decreasing the image quality. Time to configure the attachment limitations...

Parallels compressor trashes a Win2k image

The trouble does not show up with WinXP SP2. It seems that the Compressor tools that run from the guest OS cannot be used with Win2k.

IP over FireWire support for Bridged Networking?

Sure, this would be great: when my MacBookPro is connected to the Internet over the FW link, the guest OS has no access to the Internet ;-( BTW, it would be nice to rework the "Networking" option: 1/ When host network cannot be bridged, the dialog box should block the boot of the guest OS...

Compressor destructs Win2k disk image file

I may have post in the wrong forum (sorry about that). Original thread: http://forums.parallels.com/post18639-1.html

Parallels compressor trashes a Win2k image

I'm using the latests Parallels beta VM for Mac [build 1862 beta], w/ a Win2k SP4 (+ the all the latest "security updates"). If I run the Parallels Compressor from the guest Win2k (automatic or manual mode), as soon as the guest OS reboots, it simply crashes: kernel error blue screen - that's...

    Install tools in Linux?

Any updated status on this topic? What does actually mean "next release": Can we expect the tools for 2.1 for Mac, for example This would be very nice to have at least an integrated mouse cursor: full 2- or even 3- mouse buttons, and seamless cursor movements (when the cursor leaves the guest...

    Nero 7.0.1.2 with Windows XP

As a previous user of Windows and Nero, I can't understand why Mac Os X does not support UDF as it should: UDF 2.50, packet writing (also called "Drive Letter Access" on Windows). In other words, I really miss the "drag n' drop" feature that works nicely and smoothly with DVD+RW (other CD or...
