Parallels running when I wake my Mac

For anyone else following this issue, Parallels has now contacted me directly to confirm this is a bug. Sadly it seems to have been marked as 'resolved' in the support system and referred to development. A poor choice in my opinion as it isn't 'resolved' to me as a customer, and it now...

Parallels running when I wake my Mac

Does this console entry tell you anything? It's occurring each time this happens: 14/06/2015 10:29:24.429 WindowServer[155]: CGError post_notification(const CGSNotificationType, void *const, const size_t, const bool, const CGSRealTimeDelta, const int, const CGSConnectionID *const, const...

Parallels running when I wake my Mac

One more thing... I've just tried to make sure the Mac is not re-opening any files by restarting the Mac and de-selecting the option to 'reopen windows when logging in'. The problem unfortunately persists. The VM keeps opening and launching MS Outlook!

Parallels running when I wake my Mac

By the way, when the VM itself has opened, I'm finding Microsoft Outlook running when I have not launched it and it is not set to load automatically. Therefore I'm guessing that there may be something trying to load on the Mac which is set to load in Outlook for Windows. Is there any way to...

Parallels running when I wake my Mac

Hi Maria, Thanks, but I've tried that. There are no Windows applications, nor the VM itself, in my login items. I've just been experimenting a bit and I can now recreate this every time when I manually sleep my laptop with the screen open (so I can observe the behaviour). As soon as I put the...

Parallels running when I wake my Mac

Bit of a strange one... and not sure when it started but seems to have been within the last 1-2 weeks. When I wake my Macbook from sleep, I'm finding Parallels running with a VM open when it was *definitely* not running (quit) when I put the Mac to sleep. Is anyone else seeing similar? Could...

Support for new Macbook with Core M

No worries - by the way I didn't post this here to put down Parallels or to push Fusion... I've only licensed Parallels and I've been on the Parallels side of the fence for years now, but thought the discussion might be useful to others and also for Parallels themselves if there's an issue...

Support for new Macbook with Core M

There's some speculation on the macrumors forum that the Parallels app isn't ready for core m as people are seeing issues running their vm's. Of course I can't verify this but the word is that Fusion performs better. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1867903&page=4

Support for new Macbook with Core M

CPU might be a concern, but memory should not. I'm running parallels beautifully today on an 11" MacBook air with 8gb... No issues.

Support for new Macbook with Core M

Just wondered if anyone here might be in the know (or have a view)... will Parallels support the Core M processors in the new Macbook? And if so, what kind of performance might be expected? :) Thanks Tom

Keyboard input inhibited on entire Mac after wake from sleep

Running version 10.1.1 (28614). After putting my Mac to sleep after having used a Parallels VM (usually letting the VM suspend with the machine, but sometimes it may have been manually suspended before sleep), when the Mac wakes I can't input any characters using the keyboard. I just get the...

How on earth do I get support by email when your site shows I'm entitled?

So the 'Report a Problem' link directs me to your website to log an issue. I sign in, scroll to the bottom, which confirms I have 631 days of email support remaining. The only button showing is to 'Buy Support' which presumably is for phone/chat, which I don't need. How do I just notify you...

Parallels Desktop 9 crashes on Yosemite DP 6

Just download the release version of PD10, install, and during the installation (when prompted for the key) it gives an option for trial.

Parallels Desktop 9 crashes on Yosemite DP 6

I've back up and installed the v10 trial. So far ok, but must admit the number of software vendors that seem to take advantage of Apple releasing a new OS is beginning to get a bit tiring. So the OS is free, but I have to spend hundreds upgrading applications I've already bought to keep them...

Parallels Desktop 9 crashes on Yosemite DP 6

Funny that this quit working the day before Parallels announces version 10! Hmmm.

    PD9 Menubar under Mavericks

I'd like the same. The nearest I've been able to achieve is to create another desktop manually, drag Parallels to it (in Mission Control), then expand the Parallels window to maximum size and go to View > Hide Status Bar. This shows the menubar at top, and the only wasted space is the window...

iOS app on iPad not finding/connecting with OSX app on iMac

I had similar issues until I reinstalled the apps on the Mac/Windows machines. I suspect those on the beta were somehow connected to a non-production environment (thus the hosts were signed into a beta environment whilst the iPad was signed into production).

    Performance on MBA with Lion

That *is* interesting... mine generally performs very well as above. As you say, I can't imagine the difference between the 1.6 and 1.8 is that significant. How many CPU's have you allocated to the machine, and is hypervisor enabled? My settings: 1 CPU 'Faster Mac' Hypervisor enabled...

    Performance on MBA with Lion

Not sure if this is useful, but thought I'd add that I have a similar config and I'm *not* having these issues. My setup: Macbook Air 1.8ghz with 256gb SSD, 4gb memory Lion Parallels 6.0.12094 Windows 7 Pro Sp1 64-bit 1gb memory allocated to VM I do occasionally find the VM consumes...
