John, thanks for the suggestions, but perhaps I should have been clearer: Parallels Desktop.app itself takes 2m30s to launch. Once it is running, the Guest OS starts up quickly (normal speed). I'll try the suggestions you mentioned and see what that does.

Well, I'm not sure. I've seen conflicting reports on the VAG-COM and the 60CSx. I hope the VAG-COM works now with the isochronous (sp?) support, but I am not sure. Like I said, it's difficult to figure it out based on forum search results.
