    Feature Request: Suspend Bootcamp

Just an FYI: VMWare DOES allow you to suspend a Bootcamp VM. It's a hidden option in the machine configuration file. Something similar would be nice in Parallels.

    Vista, Aero...When?

This is just a guess but it appears the DirectX libraries are actually modified WINE libraries. So I would guess DirectX 9 will come when WINE gets it done, then give a bit of time for the Parallels folks to shoehorn it into the product. Of course, if this is true, chances are VMWare will...

    Outlook 2007 File Corruption Issues

I heard just a few min ago that there are 2 hotfixes coming out for Outlook 2007 and performance issues. Perhaps this might help? I'd check the support.microsoft.com website.

Microsoft says 'No' to virtualization and Vista Home, but previously said Yes!

Is that better or worst than "Apple says no to virtualization and OSX and has always said No!" Yeah it sucks that MS is doing this, but it's really their choice. My guess is that it's tied to how Vista 'activates.' Of course activation is stupid, but it's how they go about it. Apple...

    Feature Request: Suspend Bootcamp

Moved from "Windows Guest OS Discussion" Yes, Yes, I've heard the data corruption argument, but really, if I suspend a Boot Camp VM and reboot into it, it's no worst than turning off the PC (without shutting down) and turning it back on. Additionally, Vista NTFS is both transactional and...

    Outlook 2007 File Corruption Issues

Do you keep your mail files (pst/ost) on a network drive? Also, check task manager and see if the outlook process is there. If so, it hasn't shut down.

Deleted Snapshot now VM won't boot

Yes, I've discovered that .hdd is actually a folder and not a file. Inside this folder is the .xml file and the hdd files. Using another VM as a template, I've rebuilt the XML and chain linked them together. The VM now boots which is great, but the snapshot manager does not show anything...

Deleted Snapshot now VM won't boot

Hello, I deleted a snapshot using the Snapshot manager. Manager reported that the snapshot had been deleted then promptly crashed. Upon restarting the Virtual Machine, the VM reports that the .hdd is corrupt. This isn't good. Any easy way to recover the VM HD? Parallels Explorer does...

Is there a Dept. of Annoying Bugs? :)

Dangerous Bug with Snapshots Repro: 1) Configure Guest OS to handle say a mail link. 2) Delete a snapshot - (for me this operation takes several minutes.) 3) While snapshot is being deleted, try selecting a mail link in Host OS At this point, Parallels will try to start the guest...

How long does it take to delete a snapshot...

That is good info. I simply had one snapshot though and it never stopped. I was about 20 minutes into the 'delete' when I clicked on a mailto link which for me activated the image and caused parallels to crash. I just deleted the Snapshots folder and everything seems to be working for now..

How long does it take to delete a snapshot...

...I'm up to 20 minutes and the snapshot hasn't been deleted yet. That doesn't seem right? My virtual HD size is 15gb.

attn Parallels Team: This is why people here are so upset

Well they will reform their customer service or they will go out of business. That is as inevitable as the sun rising tomorrow. As for you being the squeaky wheel, that's what ignore lists are for and based on some of your foul mouthed hateful posts, I'm sure you're on it. You've passed the...

Is there a Dept. of Annoying Bugs? :)

It could be that windows is "barfing" on the non standard host name, but if Parallels is doing something different than everyone else, it might be up to Parallels to fix it... Unless parallels can prove that they are following the SMB spec perfectly, MS might just say sorry, not our problem...

Is there a Dept. of Annoying Bugs? :)

Poor responsiveness of \\.PSF Share Background: I've remapped the 'My Documents' folder in my guest from C:\Users\Simplicity\My Documents to \\.PSF\.Home\My Documents. This can be done by selecting the My Documents folder in Windows, bringing up Properties, and selecting the location tab...

Mac Office files get associated with Win Office 2007

If you want to open a file, right click (or ctrl-click) the file you want to open, select open with, select choose application, choose the old app, make sure Always open with is checked. That should solve it as a temporary work around until they fix the issue.

Mounting an .ISO located in the Guest Downloaded ISO in Guest and tried to mount that ISO [Devices - CD/DVD - Connect to Image.] ISO was located in guest so from OSX it was [C] Microsoft Windows Vista. After mounting image, Parallels locked up. I'm sure it was a but much to ask for, but a...
