Hotfix Update: Parallels Desktop 4.0 Build 3540 is available

OK, I managed to remove my suspend data, boot my VM fresh and install the new tools, then got a BSOD, reset it, booted again and now it seems to be OK. Will check the VMs that I upgraded that I was having problems with, with the new version. Hopefully this fixes them. I won't bother with a...

Hotfix Update: Parallels Desktop 4.0 Build 3540 is available

This update has now broken the new VM I had to create after the last version 4 release broke my VMs that I had to update. prl_vm_app is just using all my CPU time and not resume my VM since I have installed... Even after I quit Parallels, the prl_vm_app still uses all my CPU up and if I force...

prl_vm_app yomping all my cpu time

Thanks for the tip... but surely a dual-core does count as 2, it is 2 complete execution cores inside 1 physical unit. I want to be able to tell Parallels to use both cores... As it is set now, can you tell me what the prl_vm_app process uses when your VM is idling? Thanks!

Unable to connect to Parallels Desktop

Yeah, mine seems to have been a specific case in this thread. The others had the prl_disp_service running, as far as I know it was just me that that fix was for... Posted just in case it might help someone else... :-/

Unable to connect to Parallels Desktop

It looks to me like this wasn't beta tested properly. No matter what the configuration you have there is no way things should be crashing or not working like this. I have it working now, but only with a new VM. I'm still having trouble with the CPU usage of an upgraded VM.

I created a new VM in Parallels 4 and that seems fine. I still want a fix though, so I can use my upgraded ones.

Unable to connect to Parallels Desktop

This is the reply I got from support, but this fix was just for me, because prl_disp_service kept crashing. Other users could get output from the command I issued above as the service was running. Also doing this fix deletes all your network settings, so you have to add your VPN connections...

    Parallels 4.0 installation issue

My XP VM was really slow after an upgrade. It was also eating loads of my CPU (in activity monitor, not task manager), so I htought I'd try out a new VM with Vista x64 and so far so good. It is definately running nicely, although it doesn't support Aero yet. From what I have seen so far, if...

prl_vm_app yomping all my cpu time

Hi, I've just upgraded to v4. On my MacBook Pro I have this problem... http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?p=130435#post130435 But on my desktop it all works OK apart from prl_vm_app using all the CPU time it can. I currently have my Windows XP VM running on 1 CPU (I have dual core)...
