    Parallels 4.0 installation issue

FWIW. Had v3. Upgraded to v4. Upgrade took "forever". On completion, startup and use of converted VM took much longer. After several days of riding the forum, I decided to create a new, clean VM. Amazing speed difference. Clean VM was much faster in all respects than converted VM. --Dave

Parallels 4.0 (build 3540) Compressor Locks up Computer

Pneu- very similar situation with Compressor. I've been using Parallels since I think v.0001 and NEVER had the issues I've had with v4; slow Install, slow load, slow run and dead VM when I tried to use Compressor. Had to re-copy from backup. Have been waiting for an update to the issue! Dave

    USB 2 - Epson R2400 printer

Epson R2400 Rich- I've had Parallels since before v1970. Back in those dark days the only way for me to connect with my R2400 was thru the generic driver. Along the way I've tried a Linksys router, a linksys print server and "all" the suggestions in the threads on this forum. Some versions it...

    Boot Camp WHY?

VTMac- Thanks for the reply. I was under the apparently mistaken impression that folks were using VM and Boot Camp together/at the same time and therefore the problems. I can appreciate the "need" to run each. By the way, all the bit&*^$# about certain things not working in VM, are ALL these...

    Boot Camp WHY?

Would someone explain for me what is gained by running Parallels "with" Bootcamp? From version 1970 (thru each Beta), I've been using it as a plain VM. I have had NO problems installing or running it or my applications. Admittedly, I've had to wait as additional features were included or refined...

    Run Mac Apps from VM

Is there a way to start a Mac program from the Windows XP VM? I am looking to "pass" a photo from a catalog program (idImager) in XP to a photo editor (Nikon Capture NX or Adobe CS2) in OS X by right clicking on the thumnail and using the "Open with" command. Dave B

Parallels Support - is it really that bad?

Brandon- Uh, maybe you could have read this thread- http://forum.parallels.com/thread2980.html It appeared in June. Your thread is 6 months later. Also, in the initial Desktop program startup, check out- Parallels Desktop -> Help -> Parallels Desktop Help -> Using Parallels...

    Trash 3094

3094 works fine for me right from the download! Maybe anyone having problems with Parallels' alpha's, BETA's or support should revert back to Virtual PC! DaveB
